Where to register
The only official portal is registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, run by Uttarakhand Tourism. Registration itself costs nothing. Any site charging a fee to "process" it is reselling a free government service.
What you need
- A photo ID for every traveller (Aadhaar, passport or voter ID)
- A mobile number that can receive the OTP
- Your travel dates and the shrines you intend to visit
- Vehicle registration number, if you are driving or hiring privately
You receive a QR-coded registration slip per traveller. Carry it on your phone and as a printout - network coverage above Guptkashi and Barkot is unreliable, and the barrier staff scan the code.
When to do it
As early as your dates are fixed. Daily caps apply on peak dates, and the popular windows around opening and during May-June fill well in advance. Registration is tied to your dates, so changing plans means updating the slip.
Separate from registration
- Kedarnath helicopter seats are booked at heliyatra.irctc.co.in, not through the
- Ponies, palkis and porters are hired at Gaurikund at rates set by the district
What we handle
If you travel with us, we complete registration for every traveller on the booking and carry the slips - it is part of the package, not an add-on. If you are self-driving, do it yourself well before you leave; there is no way to register at the barrier.
Call +91-977-976-6740 or send an enquiry and we will quote your actual dates, actual vehicle and a firm total.
