The Panchachuli group is five peaks in eastern Kumaon, the highest — Panchachuli II — at 6,904 m. The name means five hearths, from the legend that the Pandavas cooked their last meal here before the ascent to heaven.
Munsiyari is the viewpoint. The peaks stand almost directly across the Gori Ganga valley, and at sunrise the whole wall turns orange in sequence.
Chaukori offers the same group from further west, paired with tea-garden slopes and a shorter drive from Kathgodam.

Seeing Panchachuli
