Tour Overview
Har Ki Dun (11,675 ft / 3,558 m) is a stunning cradle-shaped valley nestled in the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in the Garhwal Himalayas. Known as the "Valley of Gods," it is steeped in Mahabharata mythology β locals believe the Pandavas passed through this valley on their way to heaven. The trek offers a perfect blend of cultural immersion through ancient Himalayan villages with traditional wooden architecture, lush forests of pine, deodar, and maple, and sweeping views of Swargarohini (6,252 m), Bandarpoonch (6,316 m), and Black Peak (6,387 m). Its moderate difficulty makes it ideal for first-time Himalayan trekkers.
Day-wise Itinerary
Sankri to Taluka
Trek from Sankri to Taluka (7,710 ft / 2,350 m), about 12 km (5-6 hours). The trail descends initially to the Supin River and then follows the riverbed through dense pine and deodar forests. Cross a few wooden bridges and pass through small hamlets. Taluka is a small settlement with camping grounds by the river.

Taluka to Kalkatiyadhur
Trek from Taluka to Kalkatiyadhur (8,900 ft / 2,713 m), about 10 km (5-6 hours). The trail follows the Supin River through thick forests of walnut, maple, and wild cherry. Pass through the ancient village of Osla with its stunning Mahasu Devta temple featuring intricate wooden carvings. The trail then continues to Kalkatiyadhur.

Kalkatiyadhur to Har Ki Dun
Trek from Kalkatiyadhur to Har Ki Dun (11,675 ft / 3,558 m), about 9 km (5-6 hours). The trail climbs steadily through birch and rhododendron forests before opening up to the magnificent cradle-shaped valley. The Har Ki Dun valley offers spectacular views of Swargarohini I, II, and III, Hata Peak, and Jaundhar Glacier.

Har Ki Dun Exploration & Return to Osla
Spend the morning exploring the Har Ki Dun valley. Optional excursion to the Jaundhar Glacier base (2-3 hours round trip) for closer views of the ice formations. After lunch, descend to Osla (9,600 ft / 2,926 m), about 7 km (3-4 hours). Explore the village and its unique wooden architecture in the evening.

Osla to Sankri
Trek from Osla back to Sankri (20 km, 7-8 hours) via Taluka. A long but mostly downhill day retracing the beautiful Supin River trail. Enjoy the final stretch through forests and riverside paths. Celebration dinner at Sankri to mark the completion of the trek.

Sankri to Dehradun
Drive back from Sankri to Dehradun (200 km, 8-9 hours). The tour concludes upon arrival at Dehradun by evening. Carry memories of the ancient Valley of Gods, its mythology, and the majestic Himalayan landscapes.
