Kedarnath helicopter fares are fixed by the regulator
| Helipad | Return fare per person | Flying time each way |
|---|---|---|
| Sirsi | Rs 6,390 | ~10 min |
| Phata | Rs 10,164 | ~8 min |
| Guptkashi | Rs 12,762 | ~12 min |
Add a Rs 300 convenience fee and 18% GST. Tickets are return only - one-way seats are not sold separately.
These are UCADA-regulated rates, identical at every operator flying that helipad. Any site quoting you a different "helicopter package price" is either out of date or bundling ground services into the figure without saying so.
Booking runs through IRCTC, not through agents
All Kedarnath helicopter seats for 2026 are sold through the official portal at heliyatra.irctc.co.in. No travel agent - us included - can sell you a seat directly or jump the queue. Anyone claiming otherwise is reselling at a markup.
Slots open in phases and the popular dates go within minutes. Have your Char Dham registration and passenger ID ready before the window opens.
Which helipad
Sirsi is the cheapest and furthest out. Guptkashi costs the most but has the best road access and the widest choice of hotels for the night before. Phata sits between the two and is the busiest. If you are travelling with elderly passengers, Guptkashi's easier road approach usually outweighs the fare difference.
What we actually do for you
We do not sell the seat - nobody but IRCTC does. What we handle is everything around it: the drive up from Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun, the night before at Guptkashi or Phata, Char Dham registration, and a backup plan when flights are grounded by weather, which happens often enough to plan for.
Weather cancellations are the thing most people are unprepared for. If the helicopter does not fly, you either wait or walk - and the 16 km trek from Gaurikund is not something to attempt unplanned.
