About Ali & Bedni Bugyal Trek

Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal together form what is often described as the largest high-altitude meadow in Asia, a rolling grassland at 3,100–3,354 m below the Trishul massif. In monsoon the meadow turns electric green; in autumn it is golden brown against white peaks.

The trek starts at Wan village near Lohajung and is often done as a self-contained 3–4 day route, though most Roopkund expeditions also pass through. Bedni Kund, a sacred lake at the meadow edge, is accompanied by a small temple. This trek is accessible for moderately fit trekkers without prior high-altitude experience.
