About Dodital Lake Trek

Dodital is a sacred natural lake at 3,307 m in the Asi Ganga valley, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. The lake is spring-fed, extraordinarily clear, and home to a population of Himalayan trout. A Ganesha temple stands on the shore.

The trek from Sangamchatti near Uttarkashi climbs through thick deodar and oak forest. An extension from Dodital crosses Darwa Pass (4,150 m) and descends to Hanuman Chatti on the Char Dham highway, making a possible through-route. This is a quieter alternative to the more crowded Uttarkashi-area trails.
