About Deoriatal Lake Trek
Deoriatal is a high-altitude lake at 2,438 m, 4 km above Sari village on the Chopta–Ukhimath road. The lake is famous for its dawn reflection: on clear mornings the Chaukhamba massif (7,138 m) and the surrounding Kedar peaks mirror in the still water. This photograph appears on countless travel lists.
The trail from Sari gains 300 m over 4 km and is manageable for all fitness levels. Most trekkers combine Deoriatal as the first day of the Chopta–Chandrashila route. Solo visitors who come simply for the lake and camp overnight almost always have the shore to themselves after 9 am.
