About Phulara Ridge Trek

Phulara Ridge is a trail that literally follows the crest of a ridge for 4 km, staying above 3,500 m with Himalayan views to north and south simultaneously. The route starts at Bansi Narayan near Sankri and climbs to the ridge through dense conifer forest. Most itineraries camp at Kala Pani (Black Lake) before the ridge traverse.

The highest viewpoint on the ridge offers a direct look at the Swargarohini group (6,252 m). This trek is less known than Kedarkantha and Har Ki Dun despite sharing the same Sankri base, which means solitude is almost guaranteed outside of peak seasons.

Trek highlights

  • Ridge walk above 3,500 m for 4 km
  • Swargarohini group of peaks up close
  • Black Lake (Kala Pani) high camp
  • Pristine forest below the ridge
